Stories that Move
The online toolbox about diversity and discrimination
At the start of this year, two new partners joined Stories that Move: the Krzyzowa Foundation for Mutual Understanding in Europe and the University of Barcelona.
With the support of Erasmus+, the EVZ Foundation and the many people who donated to our crowdfunding campaign, the seven partners in the project have been able to continue cooperating with organisations throughout Europe.
In Spain, a team of 14 teachers from five universities, led by the University of Barcelona and the GREDI research group, reviewed Stories that Move in preparation for the launch of a new Spanish version in 2022.
It has been an extremely difficult year for everyone working in education. We’re very pleased that despite the challenges we all face, we were able to organise more than 40 webinars, seminars, and workshops, attended by 2,000 educators. Special thanks go to eTwinning and the Zentralstelle für das Auslandschulwesen for supporting multiple webinars and connecting us with the eTwinning and PASCH-net communities of teachers.
We also held our first Massive Online Open Course this year, in cooperation with the Teacher Academy of School Education Gateway. Over a hundred teachers received certificates for completing the course. The Stories that Move team of trainers is very pleased with the nine lesson plans submitted for publication. Inspired by our online toolbox against discrimination, they are full of creative and innovative teaching materials. For inspiring ideas, have a look at these lesson plans.
The focus of eTwinning this year was on media literacy. The “Teaching Media literacy and fighting Disinformation with eTwinning” booklet is full of useful information and practical tips. We are proud too, that Stories that Move is represented in this book.
The digital backpack developed by eTwinning contains excerpts from the presentations given by Lie Detectors, Stories that Move and other projects during the Online Professional Development Workshop on Critical Digital Literacy that took place in May, 2021.
We’re looking forward to continued cooperation in 2022 with our many partners in education, and are determined to equip young people with the skills they need to stand up against discrimination and to contribute to the universal recognition of equal rights for all.
